Music Bloggers Unite: GOLDRUSH Music Festival – September 16th & 17th @ Hi-Dive Denver, CO

June 1, 2011

I feel slightly blue in the face from keeping GOLDRUSH under wraps for soooo long… but we agreed on June 1st, and here we are… it’s now June 1st!  So without much to do (complete b.s.), Magic Teepee and two other mighty fine Denver blogs (Speaker Snacks and TOME To The Weather Machine) present you with GOLDRUSH: An Autumnal Music Festival – September 16th and 17th at the Hi-Dive in D-Town, Colorado… This whole idea of creating/curating a festival has been a dream of the Teepee’s for quite some time, and this spring presented itself as an opportune time to make that dream a reality… So what did I do?  I hit up Jake (Speaker Snacks) and Crawf/Ryan H. (the TOME), and ‘painted them this beautiful picture’, ala the late Bob Ross… and it looked something like above, but was worded something like this: “picture cobalt blue-skies, shimmering golden hills, and your favorite artists and friends jamming for two nights all in effort to welcome the bountiful season of autumn...”  It was an easy sell, and from that point forward we’ve become Team GOLDRUSH, and our mission is nothing short of bringing you two days/nights of the best – most unique music possible… If you know any music bloggers, then you realize the amount time we spend on a daily basis ‘mining’ the web, our in-boxes, and going to see random shows… searching for music that speaks not only to us, but hopefully to you… our readers.  When I told my wife the name of the festival was GOLDRUSH, and that music bloggers are considered ‘miners’, she didn’t get it at first… After a short explanation she laughed (and then I saw her envisioning me with a miners hat on, possibly trapped in a mine).  At any rate, music bloggers are like miners, Cripple Creek, CO was famous in the actual days of goldrush, and during mid-September our prized Aspen groves (one grove in particular, is considered to be the largest organism on the Earth!) catch fire with gold…  So what I’m saying here is the name GOLDRUSH has meaning, just like every band that’s been invited by yours truly (Team GOLDRUSH) to come play the festival.  Of the confirmed artists you see above, some of them are friends, some we’ve blogged about forever and they’ve yet to play Denver, and others we just painted that same Bob Ross picture in their mind backstage,  and after a little liquid persuasion++… again they said, “We’re in!..”  There are more artists to be announced soon, including headliners… And after we get the line-up complete, we plan to dedicate some quality time getting our brainstorm on with a few local ‘art’ artists, thinking about how we can transform the Hi-Dive into something beyond the Hi-Dive… you know, make it more… GOLD.  In regards to tickets,  limited ‘Early Bird’ two-day passes will soon (maybe today) be on sale here through the Hi-Dive for $25.00… Get ‘em while they’re hot!  I could go on forever, but for now just soak in the peaking solar radiation of what will become summer, and when the dog-days have you sweating a bit too much…you can dream of: crisp air, freshly pressed cider, and the most epic little festival to ever hit Denver, GOLDRUSH… So stoked!

P.S. goldrushmusicfestival.com should be up and working any day now… This will be the official GOLDRUSH home, where all future updates will be released.  ‘Like’ GOLDRUSH on Facebook here.   Also, name that wave in the video (most obvious at 3:05) for some type of prize…
